Last year was another difficult period for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. The publisher posted a net loss of $17 million and now hasn't reported a profitable year since 2002, when its famous founder's legal problems became front-page news.
Still, Martha Stewart Omnimedia awarded Ms. Stewart $2.1 million in compensation last year, citing her continuing efforts to turn around the company's fortunes, according to a proxy statement released Monday.

In addition to being awarded $900,000 in salary and $1 million in bonuses, Ms. Stewart was also granted a $100,000 annual expense allowance.
